G'dye from Perth, WA (Part 2)

The next morning, we had to wake up early to catch the bus to the jetty.

As you may have already guessed it, we're headed to Rottnest Island.

I think the boat ride lasted an hour or two.

The view on board was spectacular.

Doesn't this look a little like Greece ?

Water police.

A cool boat.

Industrial area.

Resemblance of Sydney's Opera House.

Rottnest Island could be regarded as a small resort town. There are many attractions within this little town. To state the obvious, it would be its beach which I reckon is nothing to shout about. There are certainly many other better beaches offered by Perth.

There are two means of exploring the island: by a guided coach or by bike.
My choice ? The bike.

Yes, I know I look stupid in that helmet. But in Australia, it is by law that you have to wear a helmet. Or else you'd be fined handsomely.

A nice, little chapel.

Red.

A breath-taking view of the sea.
~Ennis, me and Sue Yee~

My favorite attraction ~ The Lighthouse. I've always been fascinated with lighthouses.

Later, I went on solo walk on the beach.

Thirsty.

Serene.

Jetty.

All in all, the trip to Rottnest was well-worth. That if you are a beach lover. One thing I can't stand about it was the FLIES. As you may be well aware, this time around it's summer in Aussie Land. And their summer means lots and lots of flies swarming around your FACE.

It was so irritating that some resorted to ...

We were REALLY that desperate.

The fly problem was so bad that we had 2 bad case scenarios. An accidental fly or two actually managed to fly into Kenneth's mouth and ~GULP~ You know what happened. While Cheryl had a fly got stucked into her nose. ~Gross~

Stay tuned for Part 3.

G'dye from Perth, WA

It was a long and tiring journey. It took approximately 4 hours to reach Singapore and another 2 hours or so to find my cowzen's place. You see, the plan was to bunk @ my cowzen's place for the night and then to take the MRT to the airport in the morning.

In the end, we had to hire the cab to lead us there. The Singapore cabby was really nice and polite. He even refuse to take our money.

When we reached the place, there were already lots of bunkers spread across the living room. So I had no choice but to sleep on the wooden bench just in front of the shoe rack.

It took us around an hour to reach the airport. The MRT was almost as packed as KL's LRT. But it is certainly much huger than the local ones.

Our destination was the Budget Terminal.

Upon arrival, there was nothing much to do but wait.

The Lees helped themselves with a game of scrabble.

While some decided to sleep.

The Tiger Airways took approximately 5 hours to reach Perth. The journey was excruciating. You are given so little space that you could easily catch claustrophobia. Don't know about AirAsia, as I have not boarded one, but if you're looking for a comfortable flight, Tiger Airways is certainly not your pick.

On board, I caught a hint of a rainbow.

The moon even rose early for me too.

Upon arrival to the apartment (our designated stay), it was already 12 am. The place was as quiet as scenes from I am Legend. Shops were closed and there was no mamaks around. And so we took a 15 minutes walk to a 24 hours cafe owned by my father.

Yes, you read it right, my father.

You see, my father's name is Eddie.

See the resemblance ? Ok, I know, lame one.

Some pictures of the cafe. It's pretty cool actually. It has this old feel to it. I know you don't know what I'm talking about. Take a look yourself.

So, that was pretty much the first day. Traveling the whole day.

Ok, I'm so gonna cry

No lah, I'm not a
cry baby ok ? I was just soooo desperate for you to take a look at my blog.

Today is officially the worst day of my life. For first, I think I flung the bloody auditing exam. I'm so cursing that stupid GOLFER ! I HATE YOU !

To top that, smarty pants me had to leave my wallet in the exam hall ! When I realized and got back to the scene, I saw this fugly guy taking it and placing it into his bag. I ran forward and declared that it's mine but he ignored me. And so I slapped his fugly face. He reacted by punching me on the nose. He punched so hard that he broke my nose and I was sent to the hospital.

2 hours of surgery later ....

Haha ! I'm totally kidding. Truth to be told, indeed I left my wallet in the exam hall. When I went back to retrieve it, it was left on the floor. All my cash were gone but luckily everything else was left intact. About how much money was in it, I have no idea. I can only hope it's not much.

But I'm so TOTALLY FURIOUS ! What kind of classmates are these ? Go and take money I could easily get from daddy my hard earned money. I hope you get your hands cut off and rot in HELL ! Stupid f*cker !

Celebrities have their embarrassing moments too !

Ok, these two videos are darn funny. I've been watching it over and over again. And I'm still laughing. Now my stomach aches.

Watch these for a good laugh.

The significant one

Enough already ! What's with this blogging everyday ? I thought your exam's supposed to be on Monday ?
STOP IT already Angela !

Ok, before I start, please note that I'm NOT targeting anyone. Which I reckon, 'someone' would think so. *Hint hint*Ben*

You see, I've been noticing that people around me have been getting in and out of relationships quite frequent and easily. I'm not trying to say that it's bad or to impose that they are being playboys or playgirls. What I don't understand is how they could dive so easily into the river of love.

The fact that they could detach themselves so quickly from their 'old love' baffles me the most. For this, I question how deeply one could have loved the person to begin with. Could it merely be a puppy love, an infatuation or a crush ?

Not that it's bad though. I mean it's great to be around people you like and not get hurt that deeply when the person decides not to like you anymore.

Which brings me to my next question. How could a person decide not to like you anymore ? I'm sure both of them would have had happy moments together or experiences significant to only both of them. Don't these thing mean a thing to them ?

One could possibly justify ending a relationship by stating the fact that he/she just couldn't stand the other anymore. Yet in the process of establishing this irritation, why weren't you honest about it to get the problem resolved ? Besides, wouldn't the things he/she had done for you, sweet memories you guys had be enough for you to overlook these weaknesses ?

Don't get me wrong. I WASN'T dumped by my boyfriend or something. Wait, I don't even have a boyfriend to begin with. So, for concerned cowzens out there, please do not misunderstand.

On an unrelated note, remember my post on career ? (You can click on the link or scroll down to read it) I was trying to describe a career which I hope had been mine. And then on one fine afternoon, Mr. Malikuti sends me an sms asking me "Airasia or MAS ?".

Confused, I replied "For what ?"

"Aren't you in a new job ? It describes you as an air-stewardess ? No ?"

And I had to laugh my head off.

Anyway, back to work.

Six degrees of separation

And so I was being lazy not studying. Was reading the blog of some far-off acquaintance I made back during my internship. And then I saw this link. A name that resembles my cousin's name. I clicked on it and
whadya know ? It is my cousin. Well, this cousin of mine is someone that I didn't know of her existence until a couple of years of ago. Just in case you're wondering why we seem so distant.

Bet she doesn't know I'm secretly stalking her blog now. Muahahaha ....

Anyway, this same far-off acquaintance of mine is also the former classmate of a member of the B*tch Clan too. Talk about coincidence, huh ?

Ok, the next thing may kinda seem quite out of the topic of six degrees of separation, but it amazes me and so I'm gonna talk about it. (WHAT ? It's my blog wut !)

Previously, I had a rather close friend which I got to know in Form 6. Further into our friendship I discovered that we had actually attended the same tuition class back in Form 3. Amazing huh ? It's destiny ! She was destined to meet Angela THE GREAT.

Another coincidence is, I have this other friend from Form 6 too. One day I was looking at the picture taken during the awards presentation day for Kasturi tuition centre and guess what ? She was in the picture with me ! Isn't this miraculous ?

I just find it really baffling on how we are related to one another. Maybe one day I'd discover that a close friend of mine is actually my long lost sister. OK, I'll stop dreaming now.

Back to work.

One yet to another

WARNING: This post might bore you to death. Stop now before you regret.

Sitting in the car, waiting for mum, I looked across the street.

A & J restaurant. Hmm, this name certainly sounds familiar. And then the memories flicked right on.

It was a long journey with only the two of us. Approximately 4 hours of bus ride. The ride ended in Puduraya with me needing to use the toilet desperately. Yet, not only was the toilet @ Puduraya packed, it was also very 'clean'.

So, holding my heavy luggage and backpack, I held my pee on and took the LRT home. Reaching Cempaka station, her mum came to pick us up. On the verge of peeing in my pants, her mum decided to go to A & J for a take-away pulak. (Of course she didn't know I was about to produce pineapple juices in her car)

Finally, she decided to break the news to her mum.

'Oh no worries, the toilet at A & J is quite clean', she said. And in the end, I had my dinner there.

So that was the A & J story.

The point in writing this ? Well, certain events are sweet to me and are ingrained within me, no matter the simplicity. Just wanted to write my thoughts out.

Which reminds me of yet another story.

It was 7 am. The siblings finally came down. I opened my car door and let one foot step on the ground. I felt something soft, but not wanting them to wait for me, I didn't stop to check.

I got into their car. And the journey begun.

I started smelling something foul. And then I remembered. Something soft, hmm ...

I looked underneath my right shoe, and there it was ... the cause of the foul smell. I had bloody hell stepped on dog shit.

My face turned red hot. Should I break the news to them ? I just hoped that they wouldn't smell anything.

She started commenting. 'Why so smelly wun?'

I kept my silence. I knew I could still keep my secret, as we often pass-by areas which stinks greatly.

Finally, I decided to break the news when we were nearing the college. OMG, the embarassment I had to go through was freaking unbearable.

But the duo did not laugh though, props to them really. If it was me, I would have laughed my head off.

And that was the shit story.

Ok now you can fall asleep. Good bed time story, ain't it ?

I'm infected !

I'm infected yet again with the pre-examination depression !

Symptoms are:
difficulty in focusing, excessive guilty conscience of having wasted time, insomnia and anxiety.

As a result, I'm glued excessively to the computer. Somehow, it helps to take my mind off pressing matters. Yet, before you realize it, time ticks off swiftly.

Doctor's recommendation: No point crying over spilt milk, do what you can now and results might not turn out as bad as you anticipate it to be. Nothing is impossible.

Better get back to work then.

Career

Dressed in a sleek black coat and a smart hat on my head, I walked towards the terminal. One hand pulling my travel bag, while the other holds my document bag.

As I walked, cold air touches my skin delicately. Around me, I could see duty-free stores and modern architectures.

When I got into the craft, my job begins. In front of me, is an array of buttons and lights. Behind me, are people I'm responsible for.

As it took off, edifice became little glittering lights. Clouds seemed to be within my grasp.

As it touches down, a great sense of satisfaction overwhelms me.

I got into the hotel booked specifically for the crew.

I settled down, got into something casual, took my backpack and went down into the streets. I roamed around for as long as time allowed. Equipped with my camera, I took every scene worth taking.

As I roamed the foreign realm, I got souvenirs for friends and family.

What a nice lifestyle.

The KLCC Premier Washroom Experience

Last Saturday I decided to lepak at cruise KLCC. Since it's the Christmas season, it was decorated with the usual over-sized Christmas tree. Nothing new yet it was still a sight nonetheless.

Since it was a weekend, of course the area was 'people mountain, people sea'. The queue to use the washroom was so freaking long ! At such, I took the opportunity to use the RM 2 Premier Washroom.

Upon payment, I was given this small little wet towel.

The washroom looked like any other washroom I've been to. Well, there are some differences lah. It was a tid-bit dryer and cleaner, it had an attendant, and there was some Bodyshop lotion and soap thingy to freshen you up.

When I got into the cubicle, the first thing that jumped at me was ME !

Heck, they actually have a life-sized mirror in the cubicle itself !

I wonder what is it for ? To stare at yourself as you pee-pee or poo-poo ? Maybe some people actually look extra sexy while they do their business. Or is it the expression on your face ? The one when you struggle to get that bloody brown shit from you know where.

After you're finished with your business, the attendant would dive straight into your cubicle to experience the newly scented room clean the throne almost immediately. This has certainly maintained the cleanliness.

Take a look yourself !

In the normal washrooms, I'm sure you'd see bits of tissue paper here and there or little black shoe prints. Well this is certainly much better, ain't it ?

Finally, the baby

I'm afraid those allegations are true. I WAS pregnant.

A bottle of booze, a night at the hotel and I was done for.

9 months and 10 hours of labor later, meet my baby Ashley Lim.

So I'm not fat 0k, just pregnant.

Did you actually believed me ? I was just kidding. Of course I'm NOT pregnant lah. If you read my previous posts, you'd recognize the baby. It's my new cowzen !

After missing many opportunities to meet her, finally the day has come. And OMG she is sooo cute !

Just look at her toes ...

Doesn't it look like small little grapes you could easily pluck off ?

And when she sits on my lap, she would rock continuously. Like you know, those horsy games when kids sit on your lap ?

I have found my new love ....

Hurt

How does it feels to get hurt?

Somehow the sensation comes from the heart. Your heart aches so badly it feels like it has been stabbed over and over again by a knife.
No wonder we call it heart-break.

As you struggle with the pain, tears start gathering around your eyes.

Your mind goes into the berserk state. It wouldn't stop spinning, trying to find the answers to the why and how. And that's the hardest part.

So many reasons are spun that we don't know what's the truth anymore. The most pathetic thing is to deceive ourselves from the sheer truth.

Sometimes truth can be so mean. It can crush us to the very core.

Yet in the end, we have to accept the reality and move on. That's the only thing we can do. If not, we'll be left trapped in the past, and the aching sensation would never go away.

I hope you will learn to understand this soon.

Friends for Life

Lye Quan, me and Wai Kiat

They say that friends are for life and I cannot possibly agree more.

It was until the Form 3 that I became close to the duo. The events that sparked our friendship seemed to me like it happened just yesterday.

I got to know Lye Quan when she became my classmate. As it went from hi-byes to small chats, she suggested that we travel to school together.

You see, those days I took the LRT to school. And so every morning, at 6.30 am, I would wait for them at the Cempaka LRT station.

Soon I got to know Wai Kiat and we became close almost immediately. I think one sure factor for drawing 2 individuals together is the fact that they live nearby.

Despite living rather close to each other, our transport home was different. The duo would take the Intrakota bus no. 56 or Cityliner bus no.848. Whilst I would take the Intrakota bus no. 60C.

Soon (Perhaps desperate for company), I was taking the same buses as them. For that, I had to walk a journey of almost 20 minutes to get back home. Compare this to the 60C bus which stops just across my house. (See the lengths I go to make friends, yea I know, Desperado)

It was during these journeys that we started to get to know one another better. I was closer to Wai Kiat, as I found it easier to talk to him. Quite expectedly, rumors about our 'love affair' started to spread like wild fire. But of course, I knew better.

I still remember how I was almost a fan of his. He was like the smartest guy in school (1st in school for 5 consecutive years) , yet he was still so humble and down-to-earth. Furthermore, he was also really nice. There were countless times where his dad had provided me with free rides home.

This goes the same for Lye Quan. Her dad too was my part-time driver. Besides that, she does help me a lot with stuffs about my studies and of course with the prefectorial board.

Well, we did had our arguments. There were times that they weren't too happy with my leadership style and we sure did some hurtful things. But in the end, bygones remained bygones.

Our cruise trip was such a bittersweet memory. We had such a long talk on things we dislike about one another and those big secrets we have kept hidden all along were finally revealed.

As we parted our own separate way, the duo for The Land Down Under leaving me all alone, we are never as close as we were. Indeed we do make time for one another, but it isn't the same anymore. Now that they're back, I shall cherish every moment to bring back the good old days.

Fonts

Just wanted to check with you guys ... Was my font too small previously ? It looked fine on my laptop, but when seen in another computer, it was a total torture to my eyes. So is it better now? Or is it too large ?

Personal Branding

I attended the AIESEC meeting the other day. The focus of the day was personal branding.

We were divided into groups. Briefly, we were introduced to one another. After that, we each wrote down our first impressions of one another.

The general first impressions they had of me was: confident, problem-solver, tough, smart and cool (just because of my nose ring, means no nose ring, not cool lah?)

Moo-Moo

See the resemblance ?

The thing is, those preconceived notions of me are completely untrue. (except that I'm exceptionally smart lah) I'm not confident, not a problem solver, not tough (I cry rather easily actually), not smart and definitely not cool.

How looks can be deceiving right? So don't judge a book by its cover.

Today, a friend of mine asked me about an assignment. She was left in utter disbelieve when I told her that I've only just started my assignment. In fact, I suspect she thinks that I'm actually being a fish monger. But the truth is, I am NOT LYING.

It is rather uplifting to know that she finds it almost impossible to believe that I'm lazy, yet extremely upsetting to realize that the laziness and procrastination attitude within me remain the same.

I hope that one day the impression I leave could match the person I truly am.

On another note, I was inspired deeply when I saw you dance during the meeting.

You could dance so whole-heartedly, without any worries of being ridiculed.

Just enjoy the moment, be simple, don't think.

Jogoya the 2nd

Yes, it's my 2nd visit to Jogoya. This time around, I had my Confucian clan (Yeah from the confused school) as my escort. It was to celebrate Naoki's 21st Birthday.

Clockwise: Naoki, Pei Sie, Sook Wei & Jiun Guang

I got to meet up with a couple of friends which I haven't been seeing since er ... graduation ? Benn De Silva & Xin Hong. I didn't take any pictures with them though, cause it seemed kinda weird.

Bloody thin

Anyway, got to catch up with Benn. He isn't studying anymore, currently working in some IT firm doing internet marketing.

It feels kinda funny you know ? It's like previously we were all doing the same thing, struggling for SPM, and then suddenly here comes graduation and everyone's going on their own separate ways.

Firstly established friends in Form 1

I still remember the time when we went to watch Pirates of the Carribean together. It was only a couple of days before SPM. And it felt great ! My mum certainly didn't know that I was watching movies in Leisure Mall after classes.

'Gau nam lui'

Ok ... so back to Jogoya.

Coconuts anyone ?

Jogoya is a buffet style restaurant. I went for the dinner session which begins at 5pm and ends at 9.30pm. For this, it costs RM 88++ each, coming up to around RM 100.

One thing unique about Jogoya is that instead of having all the foods readily made, there are certain cuisines you could place order on and it will be sent to your table as soon as it is ready.

You place these clips on the designated plates, and the hot & delicious cuisines would be specially made and sent to you.

Food was exquisite as usual. Too much to choose from & too much for my stomach to handle. I'll just show you the pictures I took.

My fave: Cheese Baked Oysters

Something I ordered, looks nice but I don't quite like the taste

King Crab in XO soup

King Crab in a different soup. Taste like 'Chee Cheong Fun's' Kari Sauce if you ask me.

Japanese Pizza

Pineapple Prawn Rolls

Now to desserts ...

Cheese cakes

All you can eat Haagen Daz ice cream

I wanted to go for the RM 33.80 Haagen Daz buffet previously, but sadly couldn't. Well, this has certainly been a great replacement.

When is your turn ?
